Priya Sharma’s debut collection

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have acquired Priya Sharma’s debut collection of short stories, ‘Fabulous Beasts,’ for publication.

Toronto, Canada, November 2016 — Undertow Publications has contracted with acclaimed U.K. author Priya Sharma to publish her debut short story collection, ‘Fabulous Beasts.’ (March 2018).
 
“I’ve long admired Undertow Publications and am thrilled to be working with Michael Kelly,” Sharma said. “I can only hope that my collection lives up to Undertow’s back catalogue of beautifully produced books by writers like V.H. Leslie, D.P. Watt, Sunny Moraine, and Eric Schaller.”

She’s been anthologised in several of Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year series, Paula Guran’s Year’s Best Dark Fantasy & Horror series, Jonathan Strahan’s The Best Science Fiction & Fantasy 2014, Steve Haynes’ Best British Fantasy 2014 and Johnny Main’s Best British Horror 2015. She’s also been on previous Locus’ Recommended Reading Lists. Her short story “Fabulous Beasts” was shortlisted for a Shirley Jackson Award and won a British Fantasy Award. Established in 2009 by Michael Kelly, Undertow Publications (UP) is home to the acclaimed weird journal Shadows & Tall Trees, as well as the Year’s Best Weird Fiction. Books from (UP) have won the Shirley Jackson Award, and been finalists for the World Fantasy, and British Fantasy Society Awards. Kelly has also been a finalist for the World Fantasy, Shirley Jackson, and British Fantasy Society Awards.

    Wonderful news! I adore what I’ve read of Priya Sharma’s work, and I think Undertow is a great fit for her! I’ve been waiting for a full collection from her for a long time, so am super excited by this news!
